District Unable To Reach Driver
Mt. Prospect Elementary School Dist. 57 Board President Joseph Leane said district officials have unsuccessfully attempted to contact bus driver Betty Burden, who was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol last week while transporting children home from school.
"The district has tried to contact Burden but has been unsuccessful," said Leane. "District officials have even tried to go to her house, left letters and made phone calls, and not one has been returned."
Burden's bond was set at $10,000. She is expected to appear in a Rolling Meadows courtroom on Thursday, Apr. 1 at 10:30 a.m.
