Woman To Officer: 'Grow Up'

A woman who spoke out on feral cats in Mt. Prospect reported receiving harassing telephone calls about the issue.

The 51-year-old woman told police she has spoken at public meetings and was quoted in a local paper regarding the issue. At 6:08 p.m. Jan. 19, a woman called her at home and told her she was "an absolute moron" for calling police and speaking out about feral cats. The suspect claimed she was a lawyer and that calling the victim was within her legal rights.

Police called the suspect and left her a voicemail indicating that future harassing calls could lead to charges. The woman returned the call and yelled at the officer for approximately seven minutes before telling him to "grow up" and hanging up the telephone.

According to the police report, the suspect is a 49-year-old woman, but police did not release her full name or hometown.
