New Space Draws Morton Grove Firm To Mt. Prospect
By RICHARD MAYER Assistant Managing Editor
Morton Grove-based AllPoints Foodservice Parts & Supplies will move its headquarters, along with 50 employees, to 607 Dempster St. in Mt. Prospect this April.
The company will move into a 228,000 sq. ft. warehouse building that was constructed in 2007, across from the United Airlines headquarters near Dempster and Linneman Rd.
According to John McDermott, AllPoints marketing manager, the minimum five-year lease entails the company occupying the remaining 40,344 sq. ft. of that warehouse.
Current square footage in Morton Grove is approximately 30,000 sq. ft. McDermott said the reason for the move is due to the privately owned company's need to expand. The company has been located in Morton Grove for the past 12 years.
The Mt. Prospect site previously was a parking lot for United employees before the warehouse was built.
"It's a great location to O'Hare, because we send a lot of deliveries by air," said McDermott. "It's also a good distance from the city and underbelt for our employees. We will also now have space to expand in that facility."
The Mt. Prospect location will be a distribution center for AllPoints that sells replacement parts for commercial kitchen equipment in ovens and grills.
"We sell replacement parts to keep restaurants operational such as thermostats to gas burners to knobs," added McDermott.
