Police Blotter

These items are from Mt. Prospect Police Department incident reports. The Journal publishes this police blotter every Wednesday and Friday.

WINDOW SMASHED

A 31-year-old Arlington Hts. woman reported an act of vandalism as she drove on Briarwood Drive at about 10:05 p.m. June 6. As she approached Algonquin Road, she saw two men approaching her car from both sides. One made a swinging motion and something broke her rear window, she told police.

TRESPASS CHARGED

Cristobal Morales, 22, of 511 W. Dempster ST Unit GW, Mt. Prospect, was charged with criminal trespass to land at 9:30 p.m. June 10. He was allegedly found at Colonial Green Apartments, 2024 W. Algonquin Rd., a location from which he had been served a no trespassing order in May 2008.

DRUG CHARGES

Andrew M. Deren, 21, of 618 Pine St., Mt. Prospect, was charged with possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia, and operating a bicycle without a front headlamp. Police stopped him in the first block of North Main Street at 1:56 a.m. June 10 for the alleged lighting violation. During a search, officers allegedly recovered a grinder containing suspected marijuana.

DUI CHARGES

Scott Knudson, 42, of 2430 E. Rand Rd., Arlington Hts., was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, blood alcohol content more than .08 percent, improper lane usage, and failure to yield right of way when exiting from a private drive. He was stopped at 9:05 p.m. June 5 in the 1300 block of East Rand Road in Arlington Hts. for the alleged traffic violations. He allegedly failed field sobriety tests and later recorded a .175 on a breath test.

Edward S. Crestoni, 54, of 123 Morrison St., Mt. Prospect, was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, blood alcohol content more than .08 percent, improper lane usage, and improper turn at 11:45 p.m. June 5. Police stopped him at Wolf Road and Thayer Street for allegedly crossing the centerline and making a side turn. He allegedly failed field sobriety tests and later recorded a .160 on a breath test.

Gabriel Sanchez, 30, of 1434 S. Busse Rd. #1A, Mt. Prospect, was charged with aggravated driving while under the influence of alcohol, blood alcohol content more than .08 percent, no valid driver's license, and disobeying a traffic control device. He was pulled over at 5:45 a.m. June 7 in the 1400 block of South Busse Road for allegedly going through a red light at Algonquin Road. He allegedly failed field sobriety tests and later recorded a .110 on a breath test. He allegedly told police he never had an Illinois driver's license.

RETAIL THEFT CHARGED

Terry R. Miller, 32, of 1533 Norway Lane, Palatine, was charged with felony retail theft at Home Depot, 350 E. Kensington Road. He was taken into custody at 4:08 p.m. June 9 after he allegedly tried to leave without paying for water filters and thermocouples valued at a total of $109.88. Police also recovered water filters allegedly taken from the Palatine Home Depot store. Miller is currently on parole from a retail theft conviction, police said.

DRIVING CHARGES

Enkhbaatar Ganbold, 25, of 2110 Haven St., Mt. Prospect, was charged with driving with a suspended driver's license and speeding at 6:48 p.m. June 9. Police stopped him at Meier Road and Haven Street for the alleged traffic violation.

Oswaldo L. Solimano, 26, of 5 E. White Oak St., Arlington Hts., was charged with driving with a suspended driver's license and suspended registration. He was pulled over at Central Road and Wa-Pella Avenue at 3:55 p.m. June 9 after a random registration check showed the alleged violation.

Baltazar Rodriguez, 40, of 708 Knight Ave., Park City, was charged with driving with a revoked driver's license, no proof of insurance, no valid registration, no safety test on truck, and no safety test on trailer,. An officer pulled him over in the 900 block of South See-Gwen Avenue at 8:38 a.m. June 6 for the alleged safety violations.

Santos T. Garcia, 26, of 1515 W. Devon Ave. #1, Chicago, was charged with no valid driver's license and speeding at 10:33 p.m. June 8. Police stopped him in the 1600 block of Feehanville Drive for allegedly driving at 57 mph in a 40 mph zone on Wolf Road. He has allegedly lived in Illinois for nine years without getting a driver's license.

Janet Villagrana, 26, of 4110 Wheeling Rd., Mt. Prospect, was charged with no valid driver's license and no child restraint at 9:15 p.m. May 31. She was stopped in the first block of East Rand Road in Des Plaines when an officer saw a passenger in her vehicle allegedly holding a baby on her lap.

Antonio V. Gonzalez, 24, of 9705 Bianco Terrace #3A, Des Plaines, was charged with no valid driver's license and speeding at 2:35 p.m. June 10. Police pulled him over at River Road and Enclave Drive for allegedly driving at 59 mph in a 45 mph zone.
