Police Blotter

COUNTERFEIT

BILL

A 41-year-old Mt. Prospect man reported receiving a counterfeit $50 bill in a change transaction at 4:40 p.m. Nov. 19. He was inside a store in the 1700 block of West Dempster Street and asked the clerk if he could change a $100 bill. The clerk said he could not, but another customer offered to change the bill in the parking lot. The victim followed the suspect to the lot, gave him the $100 bill, and the suspect gave him a $50 bill, two $20 bills, and 10 singles. A check of the $50 bill showed it to be counterfeit. The man fled in his vehicle that registers to a Mt. Prospect address.

DRUG

CHARGES

Martin C. Arnaud, 20, of 504 Ida Court, Mt. Prospect, was charged with possession of cannabis, driving with a suspended driver's license, expired registration, and cracked windshield. An officer stopped him at 6:28 p.m. Nov. 18 at Dempster Street and Redwood Drive for the alleged equipment violation. During a search, police allegedly recovered two plastic bags containing suspected marijuana from his vehicle.

Amir Perazic, 21, of 7612 W. Ainslie St., Harwood Heights, was charged with possession of cannabis at 1:47 a.m. Nov. 18. He was a passenger in a vehicle police approached in the 1300 block of Sir Lancelot Lane. The officer noticed him holding a suspected marijuana cigar in his hand and allegedly recovered a folded piece of paper containing more the drug during a search, according to the police report.

Kiron C. Thomas, 20, of 9428 Meadow Lane, Des Plaines, was charged with possession of cannabis and retail theft at 6:01 p.m. Nov. 19. He was stopped at Dominick's Finer Foods, 1042 S. Elmhurst Rd., after he allegedly tried to leave without paying for a bottle of vodka valued at $19.26. During a search, police allegedly recovered two plastic bags containing suspected marijuana from his jacket pocket.

CITATION

Eunjoo Lee, 41, of 1747 W. Algonquin Rd., Mt. Prospect, was cited for violation of closing hours at 1:15 a.m. Nov. 18. Police performed a premise check of Woo Sung Restaurant at the same address and allegedly found alcoholic beverages on tables next to customers.

DRIVING

CHARGES

Maria D. Jordon, 26, of 537 W. Dempster St. #1A, Mt. Prospect, was charged with no valid driver's license and no proof of insurance at 9:15 p.m. Nov. 14. She was taken into custody after a traffic crash at Dempster Street and Hawthorne Circle.

Jose A. Aguila, 37, of 1972 W. Algonquin Rd. #6A, Mt. Prospect, was charged with no valid driver's license, no proof of insurance, and failure to signal. Police stopped him at Algonquin and Elmhurst roads at 12:37 a.m. Nov. 18 for allegedly changing lanes without signaling. He has allegedly lived in this country for 12 years without getting a driver's license. He was also served an outstanding warrant from Rolling Meadows for violation of bail bond.

Juvenal S. Romero, 32, of 966 Berkley St., Carpentersville, was charged with driving with a suspended driver's license, improper lane usage, and no rear registration plate light. An officer pulled him over at 2:23 a.m. Nov. 18 at Algonquin and Tonne roads for the alleged lighting violation and changing lanes without signaling. He has allegedly lived in Illinois for three years without getting a driver's license. He was also served an outstanding warrant from Bartlett.

Luis M. Zapien-Contreras, 21, of 1120 N. Wheeling Rd. #2A, Mt. Prospect, was charged with no valid driver's license, no proof of insurance, and speeding at 5:04 a.m. Nov. 18. Police stopped him in the 1800 block of South Elmhurst Road for allegedly driving at 53 mph in a 35 mph zone. He has allegedly lived in this country for three years without getting a driver's license.

Jose M. DeJesus, 20, of 706 Huntington Commons Road #2A, Mt. Prospect, was charged with no valid driver's license and suspended registration. He was stopped at 12:10 a.m. Nov. 19 at Elmhurst Road and Kathleen Drive after a random registration check showed the alleged license violation. He has allegedly lived in Illinois for four years without getting a driver's license.

Benigno M. Ortiz, 31, of 1719 N. Kimball Ave., Chicago, was charged with no valid driver's license and no valid safety test at 8 a.m. Nov. 19. Police pulled him over at Northwest Highway and Prospect Manor Avenue for the alleged safety violation.

Gabino Segundo-Martinez, 23, of 673 W. Pickwick Court, Mt. Prospect, was charged with no valid driver's license, suspended registration, and improper turn. Police stopped him after he allegedly made a wide turn from Elmhurst Road onto Golf Road at 6:20 a.m. Nov. 19. He has allegedly lived in Illinois for three years without getting a driver's license.

Damian Texis-Sanchez, 29, of 2024 W. Algonquin Rd. #2B, Mt. Prospect, was charged with no valid driver's license and suspended registration at 5:47 a.m. Nov. 19. An officer pulled him over at Main Street and Memory Drive after a random registration check showed the alleged license violation. He has allegedly lived in Illinois for more than 90 days without getting a driver's license.

Edgar Acosta, 26, of 2239 W. 47th St., Chicago, was charged with driving with a suspended driver's license and tinted windows. He was stopped at Algonquin Road and Briarwood Drive at 4:58 p.m. Nov. 20 for the alleged equipment violation.

BURGLARIES

AND THEFTS

A window was broken and a global positioning system and radar detector were taken from a silver 2005 Volkswagen Jetta in the 1300 block of Sir Galahad Lane between 9 and 10 p.m. Nov. 19.

The stereo was taken from an unlocked silver 2000 Ford Windstar in the 900 block of Whitegate Drive between 9 p.m. Nov. 17 and 1:30 p.m. Nov. 19.

Someone broke a window and took a radar detector from a blue 2007 Honda Accord in the 1800 block of West Palm Drive between 6 p.m. Nov. 19 and 6:30 a.m. Nov. 20.

Two baseball bats were taken from an unlocked teal 1994 Ford Escort in the parking lot of Randhurst Mall between 7 a.m. and noon Nov. 20.

A window was broken and a stereo, a backpack, and a calculator were taken from a gray 1988 Chevrolet Corsica in the 900 block of North Elmhurst Road between 10:15 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. Nov. 20.

The stereo was taken from an unlocked gray 2000 Kia Sephia in the 100 block of North Elmhurst Road between 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Nov. 20.

Someone broke a window and a taillight on a black 1993 Dodge Shadow in the 300 block of East Euclid Avenue between 11:30 p.m. Nov. 21 and 2:10 a.m. Nov. 22. They took a library card and a compact disc case containing about 50 compact discs.

An unlocked bicycle was taken from the hallway of an apartment building in the 400 block of East Prospect Avenue. The theft occurred between 3 p.m. Nov. 19 and 12:01 a.m. Nov. 22.

Someone broke a window and took a global positioning system and an I-Pass from a white 2006 Ford Crown Victoria in the 1880 block of West Palm Drive. The burglary occurred between 10 p.m. Nov. 20 and 12:30 p.m. Nov. 21.

A window was broken and a global positioning system taken from a green 2002 Toyota Tundra in the 1900 block of West Golf Road between 6 and 8:30 a.m. Nov. 21.

Someone broke a window and took a global positioning system from a gray 2005 Cadillac CTS in the 1700 block of West Palm Drive between 9:10 p.m. Nov. 20 and 2:30 a.m. Nov. 21.

A window was broken on a black 2004 Honda Accord in the 1500 block of Redwood Drive between 5 and 9:15 p.m. Nov. 19.

Someone broke a window on a gray 2007 Toyota in the 700 block of Huntington Commons Road between 11 p.m. Nov. 19 and 7:24 a.m. Nov. 20.
