DOMESTIC
BATTERY
CHARGED
Chisako Kurita, 46, of 718 W. Algonquin Rd. #6, Des Plaines, was charged with domestic battery at 3 a.m. May 23. She allegedly struck a 40-year-old Mt. Prospect man in the mouth and nose with a cup during a domestic disturbance in the 400 block of Enterprise Drive.
MAN
BEATEN
An 18-year-old Mt. Prospect man reported being attacked at 9:15 p.m. May 30. He and a 19-year-old Schaumburg woman were walking in the 500 block of West Dempster Street when a gold Ford Thunderbird pulled up alongside of them. A man got out, walked up to the victim, and asked, "Hey, bro, you know me?" The suspect then began punching the victim in the face until a witness, seeing the attack, came over and stopped him. The suspect fled and officers responded to the scene. The victim was able to identify the suspect from pictures at the police station and officers are looking for him for questioning.
TRESPASS
CHARGED
An 18-year-old Mt. Prospect man was charged with criminal trespass to property at 5:48 p.m. May 29. Officers who recognized him took him into custody at Colonial Greens Apartments, 2006 W. Algonquin Rd. Police had served him a written order banning him from the property on May 19.
DUI
CHARGES
Dae J. Kim, 24, of 4722 Arbor Drive #314, Rolling Meadows, was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, blood alcohol content more than .08 percent, and improper lane usage. An officer stopped him at Golf and Meier roads at 2:39 a.m. May 22 for allegedly weaving between lanes. He allegedly failed field sobriety tests and later recorded a .124 on a breath test.
Karen T. Truong, 28, of 1116 Meadow Lane, Streamwood, was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, blood alcohol content more than .08 percent, and improper lane usage. Police pulled her over at Golf Road and Hi-Lusi Avenue at 4:20 a.m. May 24 for allegedly weaving between lanes. She allegedly failed field sobriety tests and later recorded a .134 on a breath test.
Kevin A. Coons, 19, of 933 N. Highland Ave., Arlington Heights, was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol and squealing tires at 12:39 a.m. May 26. An officer stopped him at Euclid Avenue and Crabtree Drive for allegedly squealing his tires during acceleration. Coons allegedly told police he had passed out at a party earlier in the evening and was on his way home. He allegedly had profane words and obscene pictures drawn on his face and arms, according to the police report. He allegedly failed field sobriety tests and later refused a breath test.
ALCOHOL
CHARGE
Fernando Banos-Olalde, 20, of 1107 E. Algonquin Rd. #19, Arlington Heights, was charged with illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor at 12:30 a.m. May 28. Police took him into custody at Briarwood Drive and Algonquin Road while investigating suspicious subjects. He allegedly recorded a .016 on a breath test.
DRIVING
CHARGES
Jeffrey M. Harvey, 26, of 4420 Laramie Ave. #1, Chicago, was charged with driving with a suspended driver's license and no seat belt at 5:58 a.m. May 27. An officer stopped him at Dempster Street and Busse Road for the alleged safety violation.
Ricardo Rincon-Orozco, 23, of 1944 Green Lane #1B, Palatine, was charged with no valid driver's license, no company name on truck, and no safety test sticker. Police pulled him over at 7:42 a.m. May 27 in the first block of South Main Street for the alleged safety violation. He has allegedly lived in this country for five months without getting a driver's license.
Gloria Mejia-Garcia, 23, of 2315 S. Oakley Ave., Chicago, was charged with driving with a suspended driver's license and expired registration at 8:50 p.m. May 29. She was stopped at Mt. Prospect Road and Evergreen Avenue for the alleged registration violation.
Roger D. Lara, 23, of 2506 Algonquin Rd. #1, Rolling Meadows, was charged with no valid driver's license and loud muffler. An officer pulled him over at 5:19 p.m. May 29 at Gregory Street and Dale Avenue for the alleged equipment violation. Lara has allegedly lived in Illinois for one year without getting a driver's license.
Anselmo Avila, 29, of 1986 W. Algonquin Rd. #7B, Mt. Prospect, was charged with no valid driver's license and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. He was taken into custody at 6:20 p.m. May 29 after a traffic accident at Algonquin and Busse roads. He has allegedly lived in this country for eight years without getting a driver's license.
Cristina T. Diculescu, 37, of 5201 N. Reserve St. #3W, Chicago, was charged with driving with a suspended driver's license and speeding at 3:46 a.m. May 29. Police stopped her at Elmhurst and Huntington Commons roads for allegedly driving at 53 mph in a 35 mph zone.
BURGLARIES
AND THEFTS
A window was broken and the stereo taken from a red 1996 Dodge Caravan in the 1700 block of West Mansard Lane between 7 p.m. May 17 and 6 a.m. May 28.
Someone broke a window and took the stereo from a blue GMC van in the 1600 block of West Algonquin Road between 6 p.m. May 27 and 7 a.m. May 28.
A window was broken and a DVD system, an FM transmitter, and sunglasses were taken from a silver 2001 Pontiac Montana in the 1000 block of Tamarack Drive. The burglary occurred between 10:30 p.m. May 27 and 7:30 a.m. May 28.
A set of golf clubs was taken from a storage shed in the 700 block of Dresser Drive between May 10 and May 17.
Three tires were slashed and the air stem damaged on the fourth of a black 2005 Jeep Liberty. The damage occurred between 7 and 10:30 a.m. May 28 while the vehicle was in the 1100 block of South Hunt Club Drive.
Someone took a bicycle and a bag of tools from a blue 193 Ford Aerostar in the 1200 block of South Elmhurst Road. The burglary occurred between 6 p.m. May 26 and 4 p.m. May 28.
A window was broken and stereo equipment taken from a blue 2000 Ford Expedition in the 1900 block of West Algonquin Road between midnight and 11:15 a.m. May 31.
Someone took a tire and rim from a silver 1988 Toyota Camry in the 1700 block of Victoria Drive between 1 a.m. May 29 and noon May 30.
A window was broken and a stereo and television system was taken from a blue 2000 Ford Expedition in the 1900 block of West Algonquin Road. The burglary occurred between 1 and 8:50 a.m. May 30.
Someone took a "No Dumping" sign from the parkway near Thayer Street and Stevenson Lane at about 12:15 a.m. May 30. A witness told police he saw a man in a golf cart-type of vehicle who had allegedly struck the pole on which the sign was affixed. The suspect removed the sign from the pole, placed it into his vehicle, and drove away.
VANDALISM
REPORTS
The side mirror was broken on a blue 1995 Chevrolet Lumina on Palm Street near Cherrywood Drive between noon May 25 and 4 p.m. May 29.
Someone spray-painted graffiti on a driveway in the 100 block of Maple Street before 8:20 a.m. June 1.
A window was broken in the 800 block of West Kensington Road between 11 p.m. May 30 and 4:24 p.m. May 31.
Someone broke a house window in the 1000 block of West Isabella Street at about 11 p.m. May 30.
Graffiti was spray-painted in an apartment building basement in the 2000 block of West Algonquin Road. The damage occurred between 9 a.m. and 11 p.m. May 30.
A window was broken on a gray 2006 Honda Civic in the 1500 block of Dempster Street between May 23 and May 26.
Someone dented a door on a gray 2007 Subaru Forester in the parking lot of Mt. Prospect Plaza at about 4 p.m. May 29. The vehicle owner told police he had a verbal altercation with a man in his 60s before going into a store.
