Boys Report Suspicious Person At Park
Mt. Prospect Police Dept. Tuesday issued a community alert after a "suspicious person" was spotted at Busse Park, 111 N. Owen St. on Saturday, Sept. 27.
According to police, at approximately 4 p.m., a man who said he was a minor league baseball player approached two 11-year-old boys. The man played catch with the boys and offered them tickets to a baseball game. He also invited the two boys to come to his house where they could play with his two sons. They didn't respond to the request and the man walked away.

He was last seen wearing a tan T-shirt and cargo pants. The individual may be driving a black crossover vehicle.
The Mt. Prospect Police Dept. urges parents of children utilizing and residents living adjacent to park facilities, to be extra vigilant in the days ahead and to call 911 should an individual and/or vehicle matching the description be observed near any park facility.
Additionally, police urge parents to use this incident as an opportunity to review safety rules with their children and to report any suspicious activity to the police immediately by dialing 911.
