Fired MP School Transit Coordinator Speaks Out

Mt. Prospect Elementary School Dist. 57 board members on Thursday, Mar. 18 unanimously voted to fire school bus driver Betty Burden, who drove students home while allegedly intoxicated on Tuesday, Mar. 9.

Park Ridge Condo Fire Claims Cat

A fire in a Park Ridge condominium at 9:16 a.m. on Friday, Mar. 19, destroyed the residence and killed a cat.

Niles Free Bus May No Longer Be Free

Niles trustees will discuss a proposed fiscal year 2010-2011 budget this Monday, Mar. 22, that makes almost $1.5 million in spending cuts, calls for $2 million in increased revenues through fee hikes and other revenue enhancements, and taps $2 million in reserves as sales tax profits plummet.
