County Sets Tax Rates

Cook County released property tax rates for suburban townships yesterday (Tuesday), the final piece of the puzzle in figuring final tax bills.

Tax rates are figured using property tax assessments, tax rates, the state multiplier tax funding requests known as levees made by taxing bodies such as libraries, park and school districts and villages.

Glenview tax rates dropped in Northfield and Maine townships but the state modifier increased by 4.7% to 2.9786 meaning tax bills might not be reduced.

Northfield Township residents living in School Dist. 34 will see a tax rate of 5.18%, down 1.78% from last year.

Glenview residents living in Northfield Township in School Dist. 30 will see a tax rate of 5.36%, down 1.81% from last year.

Residents in School Dist. 31 in Glenview and Northfield Township will see a rate of 4.71% down 1.11% from last year.

Glenview residents in School Dist. 34 in Niles Township will see a rate of 5.16% down 1.79% from last year.

Glenview residents in School Dist. 34 living in Maine Township will see a rate of 5.24% down 1.80% from last year.

Glenview residents living in School Dist. 63 in Maine Township residents will see a rate of 5.76% down 1.71% from last year.
