Car Vs. Tree In Glenview Claims One
The passenger in a Corvette that lost control and struck a tree in Glenview early Sunday morning has died.
Oleg Oleinik, 21, of the 500 block of Fairway Drive in Wheeling, was killed while riding as a passenger in a 2006 Corvette that struck a tree on East Lake Avenue in Glenview overnight Sunday.
On Sunday morning at 3:31 a.m., Glenview Police and Fire crews responded to a reported crash in the 1400 block of East Lake Avenue in Glenview. According to police, firefighters found two victims in the car which had left the roadway and struck a tree.
Glenview firefighters transported the two victims to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge where Oleinik was pronounced dead from his injuries at 4:07 a.m. Sunday morning.
The driver, 21-year-old Edward Olshansky of the 9000 block of Laramie Avenue in Skokie, remains at Lutheran General listed in good condition facing two counts of aggravated DUI, one count of DUI and improper lane usage today (Monday).
A Cook County bond judge denied Olshansky's bail, according to Glenview Police.
Olshansky's preliminary court date is set in Cook County Court for Friday, Oct. 24 at 1:30 p.m.
