Glenview Party Objects To Independent's Petitions
The campaign manager for the Citizens United for Glenview political party filed an objection to the nominating petitions submitted by Csaba Andrew Sarkany, the only candidate for village trustee that hasn't been endorsed by the party.
A hearing on the objections will take place tomorrow (Saturday) at 9 a.m. in Village Hall.
Matthew R. Whipple, campaign manager and teacher at Glenbrook South High School claims almost half of Sarkany's 165 petition signatures are invalid.
Each candidate needs at least a 143 valid signatures to be placed on the ballot.
According to a village spokesman, the case will be heard by the village's Electoral Board, manned by Village Manager Todd Hileman, Village President Kerry Cummings and longest serving trustee Kimbal Woodrow.
James Patterson is currently the longest serving trustee, but he is exempt from serving on the Electoral Board because he is running for reelection.
Patterson and two other candidates are running under the party's umbrella to fill three open seats on the board.
