Value Of Items Stolen In Burglary: $100,000

The following items were taken from the files of the Glenview Police Dept. The Journal publishes this "Police Blotter" in every issue.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

A home in the 1300 block of Pam Anne Drive was reportedly burglarized sometime between Apr. 1 and Apr. 28, police said. The resident said personal property worth $100,000 was taken from the house.

BURGLARIES TO VEHICLES

Police reports said someone rummaged through a 1998 Dodge parked in the 1300 block of Alvin Court. Also, a resident in the 2100 block of Grove Street said paperwork related to his vehicle was stolen from his 2005 Dodge. The driver's side window of a silver Volkswagen was smashed while it was parked in the 3500 block of Winnetka Road, police indicated. All three of these incidents occurred overnight May 25.

A resident in the 1000 block of Greenwood Lane reported that between May 27 and 30 someone entered his unlocked Chevrolet Suburban and removed a red Bic lighter valued at 79 cents from the car's center console.

GRAFFITI ON CHURCH

According to police, an employee of the Glenview New Church, 74 Park Dr., discovered blue spray paint on the southeast outside wall of the church. The blue spray paint was reportedly placed there overnight May 19.

COPS: MINOR HAD PIPE, ETC.

A 17-year-old Glenview resident was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia at 8:35 p.m. May 21, reports said. Police reportedly found a small glass pipe used for smoking cannabis on the youth at Olympia Plaza, 968 Harlem Ave., along with a Hookah style pipe allegedly used for smoking cannabis.

EXCESSIVE SPEEDING

Adrian A. Botis, 25, of 4528 N. Kildare St. in Chicago, was arrested May 27 at 10:25 p.m. and charged with driving more than 40 miles per hour over the posted speed limit in the 3300 block of East Lake Avenue. He was released after posting 10 percent of his $2,000 bond. Botis is scheduled to appear in court June 30.

DRUG STORE THIEF

A six-foot, approximately 280-pound man reportedly exited Walgreen's Drug Store, 1403 Waukegan Rd., May 27 shortly after 1 p.m. with $250 in merchandise he did not purchase, police said. The items were discovered in the Walgreen's lot, according to reports. A second Walgreen's location in Skokie was victimized shortly after the Glenview incident, officials indicated.

BREAKS GLASS

THWARTS COP

Police arrested James A McNeely, 39, of 2128 Beechnut St. in Northbrook, May 28 shortly after 7 p.m. and charged him with criminal damage to property and obstructing a police officer, reports said. After smashing the window of a friend's mobile home, McNeely allegedly obstructed officers' attempts to take him into custody, authorities indicated.

METRA THE VICTIM

Metra police reported the window on the southwest Metra train shelter of platform two at 1116 Depot St. was broken between May 28 and 29, reports indicated.

HEFTY WITHDRAWALS

Someone reportedly used a Glenview resident's identifying information to make $1,300 in unauthorized withdrawals from Charter One Bank between May 14 and 16, police said.

TEENS SWIPE SIGNS

Three males, reportedly between 17 and 20 years of age, were seen removing the "Do Not Enter" sign at Spruce and Fir streets May 23 at 3 a.m., police said. The alleged hooligans also stole the street sign and stop sign, reports showed.

TRUCK TAKEN FROM LOT

A black 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 pick-up truck was reportedly stolen from Fields Dodge, 2100 Waukegan Rd., overnight May 26, police said. The truck's reported value is $41,313.

DUI ARRESTS

According to Glenview police reports, the following individuals were arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol (DUI):

Joseph F. Abboreno, 33, of 1459 Lawrence Ave. in Chicago, was arrested May 28 in the 1300 block of Greenwood Road;

Laura M. Ipjian, 22, of 9442 Hamlin in Evanston, was arrested May 28 in the 100 block of Waukegan Road.
