Polls Show Duckworth, Dold Holding Leads

Polls taken last weekend show U.S. House candidate, Tammy Duckworth (8th), and U.S. Rep. Robert Dold (R-10th) leading their opponents in Congressional races.

Polls taken by We Ask America show Duckworth up 54.6% to 45.4% against freshman Tea Party favorite U.S. Rep. Joe Walsh (R-8th) in the 8th Dist. race that include portions of several Journal-area towns.

The automated poll sampled 1,010 likely voters in the 8th on Sunday, Oct. 28 and has a margin of error of 3.1%.

Duckworth takes 90% of self-identified Democrats, 19% of self-identified Republicans and 52% of independents.

Walsh takes 81% of Republicans, 10% of Democrats and 48% of independents.

In an Oct. 28 automated poll of 1,257 10th Congressional Dist. voters, Dold was up over his Democratic challenger 53.6% to 46.4%.

Republicans supported Dold 85% to 15%. Democrats supported Schneider 84% to 16% and independents broke for Dold 58% to 42%.

The 10th Dist. serves portions of Buffalo Grove and Wheeling in the Journal-area.

Election Day is next Tuesday, Nov. 6.
