Schools Earn Good Grades On Survey

In April 2009, Elk Grove Township Elementary School District 59 surveyed students, parents, and staff using the Harris Interactive School Poll questionnaire.

The 2009 survey asked parents and students to rate their school by giving it a letter grade. About 94% of elementary school parents and 90% of junior high parents rated their school either "A" or "B". The ratings given by students were similar, with 89% of elementary students, and 89% of secondary students, providing a rating of either A or B for their school.

The Harris Poll was first used by the district in 1998. Data provided an opportunity for each school and the district to establish priorities for improvement.

Building and district personnel continue to analyze 2009 poll results. Their findings will assist in designing future school and district improvement plans.
