Letter To Our Editor

Why Give Him The Ink?

Editor, Journal:

It seems that the local media continues to be a personal soapbox for Mr. Kenneth D. Dubinski with his nearly weekly letters about wood burning stoves. They have become redundant and appear to be an outlet for a personal pet peeve. Now the Journal has given him coverage in the form of a "news" article. I'm sure there are more deserving stories to cover. It's ironic, but the stories and letters you print from Mr. Dubinski actually promote what he is against. The next fire I start in my legal outdoor fire pit will be ignited with the page his story is printed on.

My family and I are also forced to breathe unhealthy air on a daily basis. Yes, I would venture to say that everyday life is a danger. From household detergents, cleaners, disinfectants, to the even more toxic auto emissions, chemical spewing industrial parks, and just plain old ground level ozone. How about it Mr. Dubinski? Let's just ban existence!

There is an ever growing disease in this country that hides behind the "rights of people" banner that wishes to ban anything and everything it doesn't approve of. It encourages governments; federal, state, county, and municipal, to "protect" the people and save them from themselves!

Let's face it. Americans are slowly having their individual freedoms stripped from them in the name of the politically correct and it is only going to get worse with the "save the world" types like Mr. Dubinski who need a cause to give them a feeling of self importance. There are many more serious problems to be solved in the world. The evils of wood burning stoves are not one of them. If you need a cause to feel useful, find one of them and go for it, but please stop cluttering the editorial pages.
