Police Blotter

The following items are from Elk Grove Police Department incident reports. The Elk Grove Journal publishes the police blotter every week.

THEFT

REPORTED

Two unknown offenders, one male, one female, reportedly took two Rubbermaid tubs from Wal-Mart, 801 Meacham Rd., filled them with a large amount of over-the-counter medication and exited the store without paying for any of it. The theft occurred between 5:11 and 5:27 p.m. Mar. 16. The stolen items were valued at $2,280.

Three wooden room chairs and two lamps were taken from a trailer storing furniture at 121 Northwest Point Blvd., the Sheraton Hotel, around 12:30 a.m. Mar. 21. The complainant reported seeing an unknown male and female in the back of the building in a white van around that time.

BURGLARY

REPORTED

Several power tools were taken from an unlocked 2004 Cargo Pro Trailer Box at 190 Gordon St. around 11:45 a.m. Mar. 20.

DAMAGE TO

PROPERTY

The front passenger side window on a 1997 Chevy S10 Pickup was smashed at 449 Perrie Drive between 8 p.m. Mar. 14 and 10:30 a.m. Mar. 15.

Someone cut a section of chain link fence at 1635 Biesterfield Road between 8 p.m. Mar. 18 and 7 a.m. Mar. 19. Another section of the fence had also been bent.

STOLEN

VEHICLE

A 2000 Acura Integra was stolen from the rear parking lot of 1371 Brummel Ave. between 12:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. Mar. 19.

TWELVE

ARRESTS

Elk Grove Police made 12 arrests last week with charges including DUI, violation of bail bond, leaving the scene of an accident, unlawful acquisition of a controlled substance, theft and four counts of residential burglary.

Charged with driving under the influence were Yakov Sokolenko of 171 Webster Place in Vernon Hills and Thomas J. Novotny of 675 Grove Terrace in Elk Grove.
