Munchies Fined $100

Representatives from Munchies, a restaurant and bar in Elk Grove Village, pled guilty to serving a minor at a liquor hearing last Tuesday.

Elk Grove Police caught the restaurant, located at 3 Turner Avenue, near Arlington Heights Road and Devon Avenue, in a sting on Thursday, Mar. 27.

Police reportedly accompanied a minor they hired into Munchies. The minor was successful in purchasing alcohol and police issued a citation.

At the Tuesday, May 13 hearing at Village Hall, representatives of Munchies pled guilty to the charge blaming staffing issues they say they have rectified.

The business was fined $100 plus court costs.

Village Liquor Commissioner and Mayor Craig Johnson said the business has had a very good record up to this point (over 25 years in business in the village) and does not expect any further issues with the restaurant.
