Man In Critical Condition After Crash

A collision at Landmeier Road and Holly Lane/Ridge Avenue sent one man to the hospital Sunday night where he remains in critical condition.

The accident occurred on Sunday, Apr. 27 at about 7:30 p.m. Landmeier was closed to all traffic between Arlington Heights Road and Greenbriar Street from about 7:30 until 1 a.m. Monday morning.

Elk Grove Police Sgt. Jeff Prior said a Chevy Impala driven by 19-year-old Ryne Mason of Glen Ellyn reportedly struck a pick-up truck driven by 56-year-old Timothy Dougherty of Elk Grove Village.

Dougherty was transported by the Elk Grove Fire Dept. to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge where hospital officials said he remains in critical condition. Mason was not injured.

Sgt. Prior said the collision occurred when Mason was taking a left turn from Holly Lane/Ridge Avenue onto the eastbound lane of Landmeier.

Mason's vehicle reportedly struck Dougherty's truck causing it to roll over.

Prior said the investigation is ongoing and charges are pending against Mason.
