Three Athletic Directors To Take Over In Dist. 211

Township High School Dist. 211 school board members last week appointed three new athletic directors (AD) for the 2008-09 school year, effective July 1.

Augustino "Augie" Fontanetta will become AD at William Fremd High School in Palatine.

He is currently kinetic wellness department coordinator at New Trier High School, as well as head wrestling coach.

He received his bachelor's degree in physical education and health from Northern Illinois University and his master's degree in educational administration from Northeastern Illinois.

Fontanetta will take over for Jack Drollinger, who will retire at the end of this school year. His take home salary will be $109,956.

John Kane will become the next AD at Conant High School in Hoffman Estates.

Kane is currently assistant principal at Conant High School, a position he has held since 2002. He also serves as the school's head wrestling coach.

He earned his bachelor's degree in mathematics education from Illinois State University, his master's degree in education from Northern Illinois University, and a second master's degree in educational administration from Roosevelt University.

Kane will replace Washington Bush, who will retire at the end of the school year. His net salary will also be $109,956.

Lastly, Steven Lacni, will take over as athletic director at Hoffman Estates High School next year for Gene Curran, who is retiring in June.

Lacni is currently co-athletic director at Elk Grove High School, as well as an instructor in the school's math and science division.

He received his bachelor's degree in physics and mathematics from St. Joseph's College in Indiana.

He also received his master's degree in educational administration from Lewis University.

His net salary will be $108,161.
