Rupley Students Win 'Limo Lunch'

Five stretch limousines parked in front of Rupley Elementary School yesterday, Oct. 30, to take 45 students for a "limo lunch" with their principal.

The students earned the special ride by participating in a PTO-sponsored fund raiser: MegaEvent. Families sold items from a catalog to their friends and co-workers, with students earning various levels of prizes. The limo lunch was the top prize.

The limos arrived at the school between 11:30 and 11:45 a.m. to pick up the students, Principal Karen Osmanski, Assistant Principal Enza Papeck, and chaperones. Their destination was Mr. Beef and Pizza in Mt. Prospect.

This was the first year that Rupley's PTO used MegaEvent for their fund-raiser and profits were in excess of $11,000, said Betsy Boswell, public information liaison for Community Consolidated School District 59. The funds will be used to provide cultural arts programs for the students each month during the school year.

"Everyone is pretty excited about the limos," Boswell said earlier in the week. "It will be a fun thing."
