Police: Driver Takes Man's License, Flees

A man fled with another man's driver's license after a traffic crash and road rage incident the night of Oct. 18 near the Des Plaines-Rosemont border.

The accident occurred on Touhy Avenue near Lyndon Avenue while traffic was leaving the Allstate Arena after a concert at about 11 p.m. The driver of one car, a 38-year-old Chicago man, told police he accidentally ran into the rear of a pickup truck.

The victim told the driver of the truck that he did not want an accident report and would pay for the damage, he told police, however the other driver allegedly became very angry and aggressive. When a passenger from the car tried to calm the pickup driver, that driver allegedly punched the passenger in the face three times.

The pickup driver then demanded the other man's driver's license, got back into his pickup, and fled. Police searched the area but could not locate him.
