7th Ward Meetings Being Combined

Des Plaines 7th ward Ald. Dan Wilson has revised his schedule of neighborhood ward meetings this summer. Wilson is consolidating the remaining four dates into two meetings to be held:

Saturday, July 18: 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Craig Manor Park, Madelyn & Mark streets; 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. Chippewa Park on 8th Avenue. (In case of rain, an indoor fall ward meeting will be held.)

The purpose of these meetings is to offer 7th ward residents a chance to meet their government representatives and members of various city departments in a small, informal setting. The officials attending will make themselves available to answer questions and offer advice on how to improve our neighborhoods. There will be a drawing for door prizes. Winners must be present.

Because the Self-Help Closet and Food Pantry of Des Plaines is seeing an increased demand for services, residents attending the meetings are invited to bring a non-perishable food item or a new or gently used children's book (s) for the Pantry.
