Police Blotter

ROBBERY REPORTED

A 21-year-old Des Plaines man reported being robbed and beaten at 11:28 p.m. June 21. He was walking when he saw three men standing near Forest Avenue and Center Street. The men followed him to the 1400 block of East Lincoln Avenue when one of them approached him and asked where Mannheim Road was. The suspects then tried to grab his cellular telephone and punched him several times when he resisted. They punched him several times until getting the telephone from him, and then they ran off and escaped.

ASSAULT CHARGED

Christian Reyes, 20, of 491 Graceland Ave. #F1, Des Plaines, and a 17-year-old Des Plaines man were charged with aggravated assault and mob action at 12:05 a.m. June 21. They allegedly threatened a 23-year-old Anaheim, Calif., man with a pipe and a brick in the 600 block of South Lee Street. Police took them into custody in the 1400 block of Miner Street. A 16-year-old Des Plaines boy with the suspects was charged with curfew violation. The 17-year-old was also cited for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

Joseph N. Sykes, 53, of 2039 S. Pine St., Des Plaines, was charged with disorderly conduct at 4:25 p.m. June 18. Police took him into custody in the 1400 block of Miner Street for allegedly screaming vulgarities and threats at passers-by.

DUI CHARGES

Felipe Cardenas-Rojas, 47, of 1266 Center St., Des Plaines, was charged with aggravated driving while under the influence of alcohol and blood alcohol content more than .08 percent at 11:40 p.m. June 20. He was pulled over during a safety checkpoint in the 3000 block of South River Road. He allegedly failed field sobriety tests and later recorded a .167 on a breath test.

ALCOHOL CHARGES

Daniel M. Gulo, 19, of 6125 Hawthorne Ave., Rosemont, was charged with illegal possession of alcohol by a minor at 11:25 p.m. June 20. He was cited during a roadside safety check in the 3000 block of South River Road when police allegedly saw a 12-pack of beer in his car.

An 18-year-old Mt. Prospect woman was charged with no valid driver's license and illegal possession of alcohol by a minor. Police stopped her at 8:40 p.m. June 18 in the 800 block of South Elmhurst Road by an officer who knew of the alleged license violation.

STOLEN VEHICLE

A bicycle was taken from a rack at Maine West High School, 1755 S. Wolf Rd., between 11:50 a.m. and 1 p.m. June 18.
