DISORDERLY

CONDUCT

CHARGED

Anthony J. Grill, 25, of 901 Graceland Ave., Des Plaines, was charged with disorderly conduct at 8:30 p.m. Sept. 20. A 27-year-old woman told police she was leaving her apartment when she saw Grill allegedly standing near Pearson and Miner streets, yelling obscenities at passing cars. Grill allegedly turned toward her and began yelling obscenities at her, so she retreated into the lobby of her building. Grill allegedly ran toward the building and began pounding on the door and shaking it in an apparent attempt to enter the lobby. Officers took him into custody nearby.

BATTERY

REPORTED

Two men, aged 49 and 50, reported being struck by two other men in their 20. The victims were in the parking lot of a tavern in the 1400 block of Rand Road at 6:45 p.m. Sept. 13. The two suspects left the bar, approached the victims, and one of them punched the 49-year-old in the side of the head. When the other man tried to intervene, the second suspect punched him in the mouth three times. The suspects got into a white van and fled south on River Road.

TRESPASS

CHARGED

Albert E. Gieren, 58, of 30 W. Chicago Ave., Chicago, was charged with criminal trespass to property at 3:42 a.m. Sept. 22. He was allegedly found sleeping in the Des Plaines city garage, 1444 E. Prairie Ave., a location from which he had been served a no trespassing order on Sept. 12.

RETAIL THEFT

CHARGED

Esteban Gonzalez, 23, of 159 N. 21st Ave., Melrose Park, was charged with petite theft at K mart, 1155 E. Oakton St. He was stopped at 2 p.m. Sept. 17 after he allegedly tried to leave without paying for two lighters and a keychain valued at a total of $20.21.

STOLEN

VEHICLES

A white 2002 Cadillac Escalade was taken from the 1400 block of Willow Avenue at 10:05 a.m. Sept. 17. The owner's roommate saw an unknown man drive away in the vehicle.

A red 2002 Nissan Xterra was taken from the 1400 block of East Touhy Avenue between 9:30 a.m. Sept. 13 and 10 p.m. Sept. 20.

An unknown man took a bicycle from outside Walgreens drug store, 1378 E. Miner St., at 6:35 p.m. Sept. 18.

DRIVING

CHARGES

Arkadiusz Krynski, 21, of 4247 N. Newcastle Ave., Harwood Heights, was charged with driving with a suspended driver's license and failure to signal. Police pulled him over at 2:01 p.m. Sept. 21 in the 2400 block of South Mannheim Road for the alleged traffic violation.

BURGLARIES

AND THEFTS

Someone took an mp3 player, a cellular telephone, and $2 cash from a locker at YMCA, 300 Northwest Highway, between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. Sept. 17.

A ring valued at $1,000 was taken from a hotel room at Radisson Hotel, 1450 Touhy Ave., between midnight and 1 p.m. Sept. 17.

A window was broken and a global positioning system taken from a black 2003 Lincoln Town Car in the 800 block of Pearson Street between midnight and 3:52 a.m. Sept. 19.

Someone smashed the glass door of a gas station at 10 W. Golf Rd. and took cigarettes valued at $300. The burglary occurred at 1:44 a.m. Sept. 20.

A window was broken and a global positioning system taken from a gray 2006 Hyundai Tucson in the 1100 block of Holiday Lane between 7 and 7:20 p.m. Sept. 20.

A laptop computer was taken from an apartment in the 600 block of Colonial Lane between 7 p.m. Sept. 20 and noon Sept. 21.

A case of 50 compact discs was taken from an unlocked white 1998 Dodge Caravan in the 100 block of North Mt. Prospect Road between 4 and 5 p.m. Sept. 21.

VANDALISM

REPORTS

Someone poured a corrosive substance, damaging the paint, on a green 1999 Mercury Cougar in the 1600 block of Oakton Place sometime on Sept. 14.

Graffiti was spray-painted on a fence in the first block of Rand Road between 4 and 6 p.m. Sept. 21.

Someone spray-painted graffiti on a white 2007 Hino box truck in the 300 block of North Third Avenue between 5:30 p.m. Sept. 18 and 6:30 a.m. Sept. 19.
