THEFT
CHARGED
Cornelia Bredicean, 28, of 1733 S. Maple St., Des Plaines, was charged with theft of mislaid property. A Des Plaines man told police he accidentally left a credit card on the counter at Jay's Liquors, 1505 E. Oakton St., at about 6:43 p.m. Aug. 8. A review of surveillance video showed Bredicean come into the store a few minutes later and allegedly take the card from the counter. She allegedly tried to use the card at a Walgreens drug store in Norridge and over the telephone at T-Mobile, but was declined at both locations. Police located her at her home after tracing her identity through other people in the store with her at the time of the alleged incident.
DRUG
CHARGES
James A. Morris, 48, of PO Box 30063, Chicago, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, pedestrian under the influence of alcohol, and hitchhiking at 7:05 p.m. Aug. 8. Two police officers in an unmarked squad were driving on Touhy Avenue near River Road when Morris allegedly approached them and asked for a ride. He was allegedly highly intoxicated and had trouble standing, police said. During a search, police allegedly recovered a metal pipe. He was also served two outstanding warrants from McHenry County.
Juan J. Ortiz, 24, of 2907 W. Belmont Ave., Chicago, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, no proof of insurance, suspended registration, and only one headlight at 11:27 p.m. Aug. 8. An officer pulled him over in the 1100 block of East Oakton Street for the alleged lighting violation. During a search, police allegedly recovered a glass pipe from his vehicle.
Luis A. DeLoera-Ojeda, 30, of 1928 Chestnut St., Des Plaines, was charged with possession of cannabis at 7:35 p.m. Aug. 9. Police allegedly recovered a plastic bag containing suspected marijuana from his pants during an investigation in the 2000 block of Frontage Road. He was also served outstanding warrants from Des Plaines for hit-and-run and from Arlington Heights for aggravated driving while under the influence of alcohol.
Alma P. Garcia, 20, of 1539 N. Monticello Ave., Chicago, was charged with possession of cannabis at 7:16 p.m. Aug. 10. She was a passenger in a vehicle stopped for an alleged traffic violation in the 900 block of East Rand Road. The driver of the vehicle, an 18-year-old Chicago man, was charged with no valid driver's license, no proof of insurance, and no brake lights.
STOLEN
VEHICLES
Two bicycles were taken from an open garage in the 1900 block of Howard Street between midnight and 6:30 a.m. Aug. 6.
Two semi-trailers were taken from the 1800 block of South Elmhurst Road between 7 p.m. Aug. 7 and 8:50 a.m. Aug. 8.
An unlocked bicycle was taken from a driveway in the 100 block of West Kathleen Drive between 5:10 and 5:53 p.m. Aug. 10.
BURGLARIES

A window was broken and stereo equipment was taken from a silver 2003 Chevy Blazer in the 200 block of Pine Street between midnight and 8:55 a.m. Aug. 6.
Someone entered an unlocked silver 2005 Toyota in the 1000 block of South Lee Street and took $1,500 cash from the glove compartment. The burglary occurred between 9 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Aug. 6.
A door lock was broken in the 600 block of Lyman Street between 7:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Aug. 6 in an apparent burglary attempt.
Someone broke a window and took a global positioning system from a maroon 1998 Ford Windstar in the 500 block of Seventh Avenue between 9:45 p.m. Aug. 6 and 6 a.m. Aug. 7.
VANDALISM
REPORTS
The windshield and a window were broken on a white 1987 Chevrolet Caprice in the 1300 block of Prospect Avenue between 12:30 and 8:22 a.m. Aug. 8.
A window was broken on a brown 1990 Mercury Grand Marquis in the 1300 block of Prospect Avenue between 12:30 and 8:22 a.m. Aug. 8.
Someone damaged a window and a vending machine in the 500 block of East Thacker Street between 6 p.m. Aug. 8 and 6 a.m. Aug. 9.
Someone drew graffiti on a building in the 1100 block of Holiday Lane between 3 p.m. Aug. 6 and 11 a.m. Aug. 10.
