Sister Fest A Big Success; Donations Benefit Food Pantry

Good weather and fun, family- centered activities helped make Sister Fest a success on Saturday, Aug. 9 at Maryville Academy in Des Plaines.

"The weather was great and people just kept coming," said Sister Clare Marie of Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth.

Sister Clare Marie extends a big thank you to the residents of Des Plaines who donated non-perishable can goods.

"This morning we took boxes and boxes of donations over to the Self Help Closet and Food Pantry in Des Plaines. On behalf of our community, we are thankful that people gave us the opportunity for Sister Fest to be a vehicle for the contributions," she said.

Tuesday was the first opportunity Sister Clare Marie had to thank service companies for their participation. A new company commented how warm, inviting and well organized the fest was and that he was honored to be a part of it.

"God bless all those that gave so generously," said Sister Clare Marie.
