BB SHOTS
ALLEGED
Zlatko Z. Halilovic, 26, of 640 Colonial Lane, Des Plaines, was charged with disorderly conduct at 10:12 a.m. Apr. 28. Police arrested him at his apartment for allegedly shooting a BB gun across the parking lot into a dumpster from his balcony.
DRUG
ARRESTS
Armando J. Castro, 19, of 1466 Wicke St., Des Plaines, was charged with possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a revoked driver's license, improper display of registration, and loud muffler. An officer stopped him at Center and Walnut streets at 7:41 p.m. Apr. 25. During a search, police allegedly recovered a pipe and a metal container containing suspected marijuana.
Police arrested two Chicago women during a traffic stop at 7:51 a.m. Apr. 29. Erica Rodriguez, 23, of 2115 W. Farwell Ave., was charged with possession of cannabis; Jeanie M. Sobieski, 22, of 6522 W. Higgins Ave., was charged with driving with a suspended driver's license and speeding. Police stopped their vehicle on Elmhurst Road near Golf Road for allegedly driving at 51 mph in a 35 mph zone. During a search, officers allegedly recovered a plastic bag containing suspected marijuana in Rodriguez's possession.
OBSTRUCTING
POLICE
Steven McKinzie, 41, of 2081 Pine St., Des Plaines, was charged with obstructing police, driving with a suspended driver's license, no proof of insurance, and defective windshield. An officer stopped him at 9:03 a.m. Apr. 25 in the 1900 block of White Street for allegedly having a cracked windshield. During questioning, McKinzie allegedly supplied officers with a fictitious name and birth date.
Diontae Roberts, 21, of 10049 Linda Lane #1S, Des Plaines, was charged with obstructing police, driving with a suspended driver's license, and no rear taillights at 12:16 a.m. Apr. 29. Police stopped him in the 1600 block of Ash Street for the alleged lighting violation. Roberts allegedly gave the officer a fictitious name but the officer noticed an Illinois identification card on the floor of the vehicle. When asked about the card, Roberts allegedly pushed the card under the seat and said it wasn't his. Police recovered the card and determined his identity.
BURGLARIES
AND THEFTS
Someone forced open a door of a home in the 800 block of Wilson Drive between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Apr. 26. They took jewelry valued at $3,000.
A laptop computer was taken from a business in the 600 block of South Lee Street between 9:50 p.m. Apr. 25 and 10:30 a.m. Apr. 26.
Someone entered an unlocked blue 2000 Dodge Durango in the 2000 block of Cedar Street and took a bank envelope containing $8,700 cash. The burglary occurred between 8 p.m. Apr. 25 and 8 a.m. Apr. 26
A cordless home telephone was taken from a blue 1990 Chevrolet Econoline in the 700 block of West Golf Road at about 4:55 p.m. Apr. 28. The car owner saw a man reach through her open passenger window and flee in a red SUV.
Wheel locks were taken from a red 2003 BMW and a green 2003 BMW in the 1600 block of Prospect Avenue between 8 p.m. Apr. 28 and 10:30 a.m. Apr. 29.
A digital camera and a cellular telephone were taken from a white 1993 Dodge Caravan in the 1800 block of East Welwyn Avenue between 5 p.m. Apr. 24 and 9 a.m. Apr. 25.
Someone took a milk pail from outside a home in the 100 block of Lance Drive between 11 p.m. Apr. 27 and 9 a.m. Apr. 28.
A 40-year-old Des Plaines woman told police she left her wallet in her shopping cart at Jewel Food Store, 819 S. Elmhurst Rd., at about 10:10 a.m. Apr. 27. When she realized she left it behind, she returned to the business but the wallet was gone. The wallet contained a driver's license, credit cards, a Social Security card, checks, an $800 ring, and $650 cash.
VANDALISM
REPORTS
Someone drew graffiti in a bathroom at the Des Plaines Library, 1501 Ellinwood St. between 5:30 and 6 p.m. Apr. 25. Police recovered a surveillance video showing everyone who entered the bathroom between those times and are investigating the incident.
Someone flattened all four tires on a brown 1998 Ford Windstar in the 2600 block of Eisenhower Drive between 5 p.m. Apr. 26 and 5 a.m. Apr. 27.
A window was broken on a house in the 1300 block of East Perry Street between Apr. 23 and Apr. 26.
Someone spray-painted a house wall in the 2100 block of Chestnut Street between 6 p.m. Apr. 26 and 6:44 p.m. Apr. 27.
Several phrases including, "Pete is a poophead" were spray-painted on the tollway overpass at the Outer Belt Railroad. The damage occurred between 7 a.m. Apr. 1 and 10:13 a.m. Apr. 29.
Someone cut all four tires on a maroon 1997 Ford Taurus between 12:01 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. Apr. 29 in the 1200 block of Webster Lane.
Three tires were flattened on a maroon 1990 Oldsmobile Cutlass in the 800 block of South Golf Cul de Sac between 6 p.m. Apr. 27 and 7:30 a.m. Apr. 28.
Someone scratched a red 2005 Hyundai Accent in the parking lot of Metropolitan Square between 11:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Apr. 29.
