TWO
ARRESTED
Police arrested two people at 11:47 p.m. Apr. 15 after an alleged battery in the 800 block of West Oakton Street. They charged Marvin C. Butler, 30, of 1827 Fairfield Ave., Chicago, with battery and illegal transportation of alcohol and charged Colleen Schlosser, 25, of 1233 Sanders Court, Schaumburg, with possession of drug paraphernalia. Butler allegedly punched a 28-year-old Cicero woman in the jaw during an argument in his vehicle. After police arrested him, they allegedly located an open container of beer in his car. During further search, officers recovered a clear pipe with copper wire inside, a hypodermic syringe, a razor blade with white powder residue and a straw with white powder residue. Schlosser, a passenger in the vehicle, claimed ownership of the pipe but she, Butler, nor the battery victim claimed any of the other items of contraband, according to the police report.
DRUG
ARREST
Shelly Pulley, 38, of 2325 Lexington Ave., Mt. Prospect, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal transportation of alcohol, suspended registration, and improper display of registration. An officer stopped her on Oakton Street at Wolf Road at 3 a.m. Apr. 12 for allegedly having her license plate in her windshield. During a search, police allegedly recovered a metal pipe containing steel wool and an open bottle of beer. Pulley had two outstanding warrants, one from Kansas and one from Missouri, but neither one was extraditable, according to the police report.
ALCOHOL
ARRESTS
Christopher D. Bloxham, 28, of 2061 Pine St., Des Plaines, was charged with open alcohol on the public way at 7:30 p.m. Mar. 30. Police located Bloxham in the 1900 block of Mannheim Road where he was allegedly yelling at passing cars, carrying two beers, and drinking one of them.
RETAIL
THEFTS
Lilaben D. Patel, 52, and Padamaben D. Patel, 27, both of 1929 Pine St., Des Plaines, were charged with retail theft at K mart, 1155 E. Oakton St. Police arrested them at 3:50 p.m. Apr. 14 after they allegedly tried to leave without paying for nail polish, barrettes, and a strainer valued at a total of $29.57.
BURGLARIES
AND THEFTS
Someone smashed the front door glass at Colonial Liquors, 642 W. Algonquin Rd., at 3:29 a.m. Apr. 11. The suspect took 24 packs of cigarettes valued at a total of $168, eight bottles of vodka and tequila worth a total of $152, and a 12-pack of beer. Police recovered security videos from the store and are investigating the incident.
A window was broken and a global positioning system was taken from a silver 2007 Pontiac Grand Am in the 1200 block of East Touhy Avenue. The burglary occurred between 6 p.m. Apr. 10 and 8:30 a.m. Apr. 11.
Someone took the stereo from a green 1993 Chevrolet Astrovan in the 1800 block of Ash Street between 7 and 10:15 p.m. Apr. 12.
A window was broken and a global positioning system was taken from a red 2007 Ford Expedition in the 1400 block of East Touhy Avenue between 3:40 and 5:50 p.m. Apr. 12.
Two hubcaps were taken from a gray 2005 Hyundai Sonata in the 1400 block of Prairie Avenue between 9 a.m. Apr. 11 and midnight Apr. 14.
Someone broke a window and took a radar detector and a color monitor from a black 2004 Hummer H2 in the 1200 block of East Rand Road. The burglary occurred between 3 a.m. Apr. 12 and 6:10 p.m. Apr. 13.
Two saws valued at $1,500 were taken from the bed of a white 1999 Ford F250 in the 2100 block of Miner Street at about 6 a.m. Apr. 13.
VANDALISM
REPORTS
A window was scratched and the frame damaged on a gray 2004 Kia Solanta in the 1600 block of Touhy Avenue. Someone used a brick to try to break the window but was unsuccessful between 12:20 a.m. and 2 p.m. Apr. 11.
Two tires were punctured on a black 1985 Chevrolet Silverado in the 1300 block of Wicke Street between 10 p.m. Apr. 10 and 5 a.m. Apr. 11.
Someone damaged body panels on a red 2002 Ford Explorer and a silver 2002 Chevrolet Malibu in the 100 block of River Road. The incident occurred between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Apr. 11.
Three city signs were bent in the 600 block of Beau Drive between 9 a.m. Apr. 11 and 8 a.m. Apr. 12.
Graffiti was drawn in the bathroom of Subway, 1581 Lee St., between 6:15 and 7 p.m. Apr. 11.
Three skylights valued at a total of $10,000 were broken at a business in the 1700 block of Sherwin Avenue between 6 p.m. Apr. 12 and 6:30 a.m. Apr. 13. Someone threw rocks through the windows, breaking holes in the glass but not shattering them.
A window was broken on a gray 2001 Chevrolet pickup truck in the 1300 block of Carol Street between 9 p.m. Apr. 12 and 7 a.m. Apr. 13.
Someone spray-painted graffiti onto a garage in the 1300 block of Henry Avenue between 8 a.m. Mar. 24 and 10 a.m. Apr. 14.
The hood was dented on a silver 2001 Ford Taurus in the 700 block of River Road between midnight Apr. 13 and 9 p.m. Apr. 15.
