ASSAULT
CHARGED
Gordon T. Wallace, 36, of 2531 Church St., Des Plaines, was charged with assault after an incident at Des Plaines City Hall. He came into City Hall to pay a parking ticket at 11:56 a.m. Nov. 9. Wallace allegedly became upset about the amount of the fine and began shouting about beating up the police. The clerk, a 36-year-old woman, told him if he had a complaint, she should speak with the police. He allegedly replied, "I'll slap the crap out of you," at which time the clerk retreated to an inner office and called police. Officers came to City Hall and arrested Wallace.
BOY
BATTERED
A 14-year-old Des Plaines boy told police he was riding his bicycle in the 1700 block of South Mannheim Road when a blue minivan passed him at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 30. Two men in the vehicle allegedly flashed gang signs at him but the boy ignored them. The minivan then stopped in a parking lot and the two men got out and approached him. They struck him several times until the boy grabbed his bike lock to defend himself. The men then went back to the minivan. The boy said a woman who was driving the vehicle then got out and apologized to him saying the men were her sons and she could not control them.

CHARGED
Matthew A. Nelson, 35, of 1140 E. Northwest Highway, Palatine, was charged with criminal damage to state-supported property at 12:18 a.m. Nov. 8. Police placed him into a squad car in the 1500 block of Times Drive during a traffic arrest. Nelson allegedly kicked out a window on the squad, shattering the glass and scratching the paint on the vehicle.
OBSTRUCTION
ARREST
Victor M. Lara, 33, of 500 W. Touhy Ave., Des Plaines, was charged with obstructing justice and driving with a revoked driver's license. Police stopped him at 9:45 p.m. Nov. 8 on Algonquin Road near Elmhurst Road for an alleged traffic violation. He allegedly gave police a fictitious name and officers brought him to the station for fingerprinting. Officers learned his real identity and discovered the alleged revocation as well as two outstanding warrants.

ARRESTS
Kelly E. Jackson, 19, of 314 Council Trail, Lake in the Hills, was charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia; an 18-year-old Algonquin woman was charged with possession of cannabis and failure to signal. Officers arrested them at 8:40 p.m. Nov. 10 at Golf and Dee roads after the 18-year-old allegedly did not use her turn signal. Police allegedly recovered plastic bags containing suspected marijuana from both women as well as a smoking device from Jackson's purse.
RETAIL
THEFT
A man about 20 years old took two bottles of tequila from a store in the 1500 block of Oakton Street at 5:55 p.m. Nov. 11. An employee of the business chased the man for a couple of blocks before giving up the pursuit.
BURGLARIES

The stereo and a cellular telephone were taken from a black 1993 Honda Accord in the 100 block of East Howard Avenue between 2:20 a.m. Nov. 7 and 6:30 a.m. Nov. 8.
Someone ransacked a bedroom in the 1800 block of Pine Court and took jewelry valued at $10,000 and $2,000 cash. The burglary occurred between 7:15 a.m. and 3 p.m. Nov. 8.
Two CDs were taken from a silver 2005 Chrysler Sebring convertible in the 1600 block of Oakton Place. The burglary occurred between 7:10 and 8:44 p.m. Nov. 8 while the car was parked with the top down, according to the police report.
A wallet containing credit cards, a cellular telephone, and two sets of headphones were taken from an unlocked green 2006 Kia Sorento in the 1300 block of Whitcomb Avenue. The burglary occurred between 3 and 10 p.m. Nov. 11.
Tools valued at $450 were taken from a gold 2001 Mitsubishi Montero while an mp3 player was taken from a red 1997 Chevrolet Prism. Both vehicles were parked in the 600 block of Elmhurst Road and a window was broken on each. The burglaries occurred between 9 p.m. Nov. 8 and 6:30 a.m. Nov. 9.
A toolbox and tools valued at $250 were taken from an apartment storage area in the 1100 block of Holiday Lane. The burglary occurred between 3 p.m. Nov. 5 and 4 p.m. Nov. 11.
Two tires and seven hubcaps were taken from a two white 2001 Ford Crown Victoria in the 1100 block of Lee Street. The thefts occurred between 7 p.m. Nov. 10 and 10:30 a.m. Nov. 11.

REPORTS
A window was broken on a grey 2005 Toyota 4-Runner in the 300 block of Stratford Road between 9 p.m. Nov. 7 and 7:20 a.m. Nov. 8.
Someone burned the siding on a garage using cigarettes between 7:30 p.m. Nov. 7 and 1 a.m. Nov. 8. The damage occurred in the 1300 block of Algonquin Road.
A window was broken on a black 1999 Cadillac Seville in the 400 block of Courtesy Lane. The damage occurred between 12:01 a.m. and 4:20 p.m. Nov. 8.
Two BBs were shot at a living room window, cracking it, between 11 p.m. Nov. 7 and 11 a.m. Nov. 8. The home was located in the 500 block of Florian Drive.
Someone broke a window on a white 1991 Ford Escort in the 900 block of Walter Avenue between 3 p.m. Nov. 7 and 8:30 a.m. Nov. 8.
A window was broken on a blue 2005 Chevrolet Malibu in the 1000 block of Greenview Avenue before 10:01 a.m. Nov. 8.
Someone cut three telephone lines at a business in the 1900 block of Touhy Avenue. The damage occurred between 10 p.m. Nov. 11 and 11 a.m. Nov. 12.
A window was broken on a house in the 1700 block of Orchard Street between 11 and 11:30 p.m. Nov. 10.
Someone broke a window on a blue 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier in the 1800 block of Sycamore Street between 10 p.m. Nov. 10 and 9 a.m. Nov. 11.
A window was broken at a business in the 600 block of West Algonquin Road between 10 p.m. Nov. 10 and 8 a.m. Nov. 11.
Someone broke a side mirror on a black 1999 Honda Civic in the 800 block of Margaret Street between 6:25 and 9:30 p.m. Nov. 9.
A yellow acid-like substance was poured over most of the body panels of a green 2002 Ford Explorer in the 600 block of East Greenview Avenue. The damage, estimated at $2,500, occurred between 11 p.m. Nov. 8 and 7:30 a.m. Nov. 9.
