Truck Terminals Will Replace Symons Site On Touhy
Two more truck terminal facilities will likely be built on recently cleared property on the north side of Touhy Avenue between Wolf and Mt. Prospect roads.
Demolition crews last week removed one large building and several smaller accessory structures owned by Symons Corp., 200 E. Touhy Ave. The company for many years manufactured concrete forms at the site.
International Airport Centers plans to construct two new truck terminals on the property. They are in the process of seeking city permits to proceed with the project.
The southwest area of Des Plaines is the site of numerous air cargo and truck terminal businesses.
