The Regus Group, a provider of furnished and equipped offices with close to 1,000 locations in 70 countries, announced last week that it has signed a lease agreement to open a 12,000 sq. ft. center in Park Ridge.

The Regus Park Ridge Plaza business center will be located on the third floor of 350 S. Northwest Hwy. and will feature 54 offices, 96 workstations, one board room and one videoconferencing studio.

The property spans 60,000 sq. ft., including a conferencing facility, underground parking, newly-renovated lobby and corridors, on-site property managements, a full service delicatessen, 24-hour security, and a health club.

According to Tom McLean, director of construction for The Regus Group, permits have been submitted to the city awaiting approval.

"Our tentative schedule to begin operations in Park Ridge is early to mid-December at the latest," said McLean. He mentioned all the staff will be local, creating more jobs for residents in northern Illinois.

"This new business center will create a lot of jobs and all of the office space vacancy currently there will be a lot lower in the near future," said Kim Uhlig, director of Economic Development for the City of Park Ridge.

"As we continue to execute against our strategy of offering our clients the opportunity to work closer to where they live and play by locating our centers in key suburban markets, we couldn't have selected a more ideally suited community than Park Ridge," said Michael Berretta, vice president of Business Development for Regus.

Berretta added, "The city is a great residential area with a small-town feel that perfectly compliments all the new development it is experiencing."

The landlord for the project is Hobbs Management LLC and the term of the lease is 10 years.
