Home Sales On Way Up
Whether it be the location, the neighborhood or the schools, home sales in Glenview are hitting close to the $800,000's, according to one Realtor.
Within the last three months, two homes sold for over $2 million, said Fran Bailey, a Realtor with Baird & Warner Realty.
"That's a change from a year ago," said Bailey. "You didn't have anything selling over $2 million" this time last year.
According to data listed on the Multiple Listing System of Northern Illinois, home sales in the last three months average $783,000 each. About 65 homes have been sold with a median price of $660,000. The data only takes into account single family residences, said Bailey.
More houses are on the market now than a year ago, Bailey explained. She said sellers are no longer in a sellers market since the playing field has evened out in the last year.
Sellers have "come to a realization that the seller's market is over," she said. "A lot of sellers just didn't get it yet."
Since then, more houses have been put up for sale, she said.
