"The Cardinal Fitness Health & Fitness Fair is a cooperative with the Chamber of Commerce to provide health and educational opportunities for Des Plaines residents and business owners," said Mike Sitterly, manager of Cardinal Fitness. "The Health and Fitness Fair will allow local residents to experience to experience how fun getting healthy can be for free. They will be able to try out the facilities at Cardinal Fitness, hear from local chiropractor Dr. Janet Horton and visit with local health care providers."
The Health Fair will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 1515 Lee St., Des Plaines. Admission is free and participants will be able to work out on Cardinal Fitness' state-of-the-art Precor and LifeFitness equipment and meet with staff and other health care professionals. Personal trainers will be on hand to provide fitness tips and free equipment instructions. Also available will be free messages, free chiropractic screenings, free vision screenings, free dental screenings and blood pressure checks (for a small fee). Dr. Janet Horton will give two presentations for local residents about fitness and getting started on a workout plan. The seminars are free to registrants, but an RSVP is encouraged by calling 847-759-2000. Light refreshments will be provided.
The seminars will be held:
Tuesday, Jan. 25 "Fitness and Wellness in the Workplace" at 8:30 a.m.; Friday, Jan. 28, 11, "Everything You Want to Know About Getting Started With Your Workouts", 11:30 a.m.
