Cook County Commissioner Elizabeth “Liz” Doody Gorman (R-17th) said the Cook County Department of Animal and Rabies Control will return to her district when it hosts two Rabies Vaccine & Microchip Mobile Clinics on Wednesday, June 25 in Elk Grove Village and Wednesday, July 23 in Des Plaines.
The Elk Grove Village mobile clinic will be held at the Jack A. Claes Pavilion, 1000 Wellington Ave. (Wellington & Biesterfield).
The Des Plaines mobile clinic will be held in the Jewel-Osco parking lot at Oak Leaf Commons Shopping Center, 1500 S. Lee St.
Clinic hours are 10 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. The mobile clinics allow residents to have their dogs, cats and ferrets vaccinated and micro-chipped.
Rabies vaccines will cost $7 for a one year and $21 for a three year. Ferrets may only be vaccinated for one year and the cost of the vaccine is $9.
Pet owners can have their pets micro-chipped for $10; however, this does not include the national registration fee.
Cook County’s low-cost clinic services for 2014 started Mar. 24 and run through Oct. 8. The mobile clinics operate at various locations throughout Cook County.
